Organization of international seminars
Experience around the world has shown that, while scientifi c knowledge and engineering skills are the starting point, the
difference between failure and success almost always depends on business knowledge and skills in areas such as marketing and staff
selection and training, management drive and competence and access to appropriate forms of finance.
CNCP programme organize the international seminars which aimed at discussion the possibilities for commercialising the results of
scientific and technological research as an effective means to create new jobs and to promote economic stability.
Seminar "Development Centres and
Commercialisation Units: Results and Prospects", Yalta, Ukraine, 16-19 October 2011
On 16-19 October in Yalta the CNCP Programme in conjunction with the Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology NNC organized a seminar
for employees of Commercialisation Units created with support of CNCP. The seminar was attended by representatives of Russia, Ukraine,
Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Poland and UK. It included four sessions: "Commercialisation Units in CIS research institutes",
"Municipal establishments for business development and support", "Cooperation between international funds and programmes on R&D support and
assistance to commercialisation of research developments", "Cooperation with commercial organisations to develop R&D and commercialize
R&D results".

Seminar "Experience and Prospects of Inward Investment Attraction to Closed
Cities", Krasnoyarsk, Zheleznogorsk, 19-20 October 2010
On 19-20 October in Krasnoyarsk and Zheleznogorsk a Seminar on experience
and prospects of inward investment attraction to closed cities was held with
support of CNCP Programme. The seminar was attended by heads of Rosatom
closed cities, representatives of Rosatom Corporation and Chair of
Association of Closed Cities of Atomic Industry, nuclear industry
specialists and CNCP experts.

Seminar "Opportunities for commercialization in health care technologies",
Tbilisi, Georgia, 11-14 October 2010
On 11 October in Tbilisi (Georgia) the CNCP Programme in association with the Andronikashvili Institute of Physics and Sukhumi
Institute of Physics and Technologies arranged a seminar for employees of commercialisation centres created with CNCP support, and on
12-14 October they organized a seminar dedicated to commercial application of diagnostics equipment and medical technologies. A
special attention was paid to commercialization in nuclear medicine. The participants were given presentations by invited speakers
from the UK and Germany. Specialists from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine shared their experience in
implementation of CNCP projects related to biological and medical technologies. On 14 October there was held a seminar on "Marketing
and sales of medical products. Experience of CNCP".

Seminar on the commercialization of radiation technologies, Lvov, Ukraine, 13-14 May 2009
Seminar on the commercial applications of radiation technologies carried out by CNCP in Lvov, Ukraine, in conjunction with the
Kharkhov Institute of Physics and Technology. The event was the latest in a series of seminars organized with a view to helping
nuclear institutes to realize their commercial potential and to create new jobs.

Seminar on Business Incubators in Russian Nuclear Closed Cities, Seversk, December 2008
From 9 to 10 December 2008 a seminar on business incubators was held in the city of Seversk. In addition to informative reports, the
programme included visits to the Tomsk technological and innovation zone, and to two student business incubators “Druzhba” (Tomsk) and
“Stimul” (Seversk). The official opening of the Seversk Innovation Business Incubator was a highlight of the event.

Participants rated the cycle of seminars as very valuable. It provided opportunities for exchange of opinions and discussion on
crucial topics, demonstrating the great potential of commercialising the knowledge, skills, and expertise of nuclear sector specialists,
including those laid off from the military sector as a result of defence reforms.

Workshop on commercial production of isotopes for industrial and medical applications, Almaty, May 2008
On 22-23 May 2008 in Almaty in Institute of Nuclear Physics, National Nuclear Centre of the Republic of Kazakhstan there was held a
workshop on commercial production of isotopes for industrial and medical applications. Fifty-four participants attended the seminar
including representatives from all of the former Soviet Union Republics institutes involved in the CNCP programme and 6 experts from UK,
US and Canada.

Energy Efficiency Workshop, Moscow, September 2007
A workshop on effective energy use, technologies of efficient energy consumption, energy saving, energy audit and other aspects that can be
classified as energy efficiency (EE), was held in Moscow on 18-19 September 2007. The event was organised by the CNCP Programme and brought
together 41 participants, including representatives of enterprises and city administrations from closed Rosatom cities, nuclear centres in
former Soviet Union Republics, financial communities, and companies that manufacture EE products or provide EE services.

Effective Sales seminar, Zheleznogorsk, October 2006
An Effective Sales seminar took place from 10 to 12 October in Zheleznogorsk, organised by the International Development Centre,
Zheleznogorsk. Leading tutors from the Stockholm School of Economics in Saint Petersburg were involved in the seminar. Twenty seven
participants from CNCP projects in Zheleznogorsk, Seversk and Tomsk took part. The seminar programme included lectures and practical classes.
Students were presented with certificates from "IDC-Zheleznogorsk" Fond on completion of their training.
Семинар-тренинг "Эффективные продажи" Стокгольмской Школы Экономики, Снежинск-Озерск, апрель 2005
С 25 по 30 апреля на территории санатория "Дальняя Дача", который находится недалеко от городов Снежинск и Озерск прошел семинар-тренинг
"Эффективные продажи". Семинар был организован МЦР-Снежинск при финансовой поддержке британо-российского партнерства "Атомные города".
В семинаре приняли участие 27 человек, представлявшие 11 организаций из Снежинска и Озерска. Семинар проводился НУДО "Стокгольмская школа
экономики в Санкт-Петербурге". Длительность обучения составляла 60 академических часов (6 дней). По итогам обучения, слушателям выданы
сертификаты "Стокгольмской школы экономики в Санкт-Петербурге".
