The visit of CNCP experts in Zheleznogorsk, November 2006

The visit of CNCP experts in Zheleznogorsk took place on 15-18 November 2006. During these days they oversaw the implementation of the CNCP ongoing projects in the city: Production of modular heat transfer units of NPO PM MKB, Establishment of Decorative Glass Manufacture in Zheleznogorsk of Makhaon, Development of metal carcasses production for assembly of ventilated facade systems of Kraspan, Establishment of bathroom furniture manufacture in Zheleznogorsk of Russian Profile - Zheleznogorsk, Expansion and diversification of vermiculite's production activity of Vermiculite Ltd. Also the CNCP team visited the premises where new supported by DTI projects are going to be organised: Manufacture of flooring, corrugated cardboard sheets, and sandwich-panels used in construction of buildings with light metal framework of Sibmetalservice, Expansion of gold jewellery production facility of Siberian Jewellery Works, Development of a production facility for Collahit material for medical and cosmetic applications of Collahit, Ltd., Expansion of the cabinet furniture manufacture of Kardinal Furniture Factory and the sites where the possible new CNCP projects can be implemented: Manufacture of flexible pre-insulated irradiation-cross-linked polythene (PEX) pipes of SiET, Procurement of the second production line of aluminium wares of Rolling Plant Alucom.

During the visit there was a ceremony at the local leisure centre to mark the successful completion of the first year Link course (which operates in collaboration with the UK Open University) in a range of different management studies.

The CNCP delegation met G.Ya. Bakhovtsev, Head of the ZATO Administration, and had an exchange of favourable comments on the collaboration.

Also the following new proposals were presented and discussed: Production and marketing of cenospheres and related materials in Zheleznogorsk of MCK, Development of the centre for technical diagnostics, Manufacture of heavy industrial trailers of Vinga, Expansion of Moris fish processing business, expansion of Novotex facility to manufacture industrial ventilation and air-conditioning ducting and fitments, Expansion of Alternativa Plus production facility for off-road vehicles with very low tyre pressure, Expansion of Sibirskoye Steklo production facility for laminated glass panes, Creation of a solid waste sorting and treatment centre in Zheleznogorsk of Sinelga, Creation of a facility to convert wastes from the brewing industry into feedstuff for agricultural animals or possibly into additives to human food products of KrasKorm, Manufacture of heat regulation devices for sale to homes with poor energy efficiency on a 'performance-based' contract of Zheleznogorsk Energy Service Company, Chemical Plant from Zheleznogorsk presented several proposals: Thermocatalytic refining of oil, Expansion of cryogenic production, Manufacture of polythene tubing for hot and cold water supply and central heating, Expansion of their pipe extrusion capability, Destruction of highly toxic organics, Production of motor fuel using ZGG equipment (ZGG is a daughter company of Gazprom), Recycling of car tyres and motor fuel, 'Pure air' - a 'canned' product for sale in highly air-polluted environments (eg in Japanese cites).

IDC - Zheleznogorsk submitted an outline proposal for a project to help four Zheleznogorsk CNCP supported firms to get ISO9001:2000 certification.
