Official visit of CNCP representatives to Seversk, meeting of Board of Trustees,
December 2006


From 4 to 7 December CNCP representatives visited Seversk. The experts and supervisors of the projects implemented in the city visited production facilities established and funded by CNCP. These projects are based at the FSUE Siberian Chemical Kombinat (SCK) and in municipal territories. The leading projects are:

  • Creation of a test bed laboratory for oxygen-18 isotope production;
  • Enhanced wood processing facility at SCK;
  • Production of pilot samples from processed ash waste from Seversk Power Station;
  • Development of a prototype Zirconium Diboride sputtering target (ZrB2) for the manufacture of nuclear fuel with burnable absorber coatings.

The projects implemented in the city are:
Establishment of a paper recycling enterprise (Joule-S Ltd.) and Seversk Business Development Agency (BDA-Seversk).

During the visit to production premises the CNCP delegation was shown operating facilities, technological processes, and production lines. Technical and organizational issues were discussed as well.

At the end of the visit the BDA Board of Trustees met, comprising representatives of Seversk Administration, heads of SCK and oblast administration and the CNCP team. The members discussed implementation of ongoing projects and new initiatives.
