Between 26 – 28 February a CNCP delegation visited Sarov. The participants of the Programme discussed results of their work and prospects for
further development of the Partnership in the closed city.
Collaboration with Sarov organizations is developing dynamically and the number of funded projects is growing rapidly. The proportion of high
technology projects is high. The representatives of the CNCP Programme visited sites where joint projects are being implemented.
New initiatives include – setting up an energy saving technologies centre. Specialists from VNIIEF came up with this idea after the Energy
Effi ciency workshop organized by the CNCP Programme in September 2007 in Moscow. In the previous issue we presented detailed information about
energy efficiency.
Another CNCP Beneficiary producing scenery equipment proposed to extend collaboration and support further development of the project. In
accordance with the rules of the Programme it is possible to do this if all obligations in the fi rst project have been fully completed. In such
a situation compensation of bank interest on credit can be proposed to the benefi ciary or some form of support could be offered which is
different from directly subsidizing project expenses.
All urgent aspects of the Partnership were discussed with the leadership of the City Administration and VNIIEF. Practical issues relating to
coordination of the Programme growing activity in Sarov was given particular attention. A press conference on the results of the visit took place.
