5th Business English Course in the De Montfort University, February 2008
From the 4 to 29 February an annual Business English Course traditionally took place in the De Montfort University, Leicester, UK.
This year the University received a fifth group of representatives from Russia and former Soviet Union Republics working on the CNCP Programme. The group
included employees of nuclear centres and research institutes from Sarov, Ozersk, Snezhinsk, Seversk, Zheleznogorsk, Kharkov, Almaty,
Kurchatov and Tashkent. It was the first time on the course for a representative of Sevastopol, Ukraine, and representatives of Belarus,
Armenia and Georgia - countries which has just recently joined the CNCP Programme. The group included 15 participants.
The structure of the Course was made of classes in lecture rooms, fulfillment of home tasks, various business games and use of video
films dedicated to different aspects of business English and negotiating.
Apart from the classes, the students participated in some cognitive events, such as an informal meeting with entrepreneurs, visit to a
business-incubator, innovation centre for development of new products, and also the Energy Institute and stable development of the De Montfort
University.
The course in the De Montfort University gave an opportunity to get necessary knowledge in business English and negotiation aspects for the students,
and also strengthen the relations between the representatives of nuclear centres of Russia, former Soviet Union Republics and the University.
