In November 2011, under the contract with the National Innovation Fund (NIF) of Kazakhstan, the CNCP experts developed a programme
and conducted a series of training seminars for technology commercialization offices at nine Universities of Kazakhstan (Almaty, Karaganda,
Uralsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Shymkent). The training programme consisted of an introduction and nine sessions, which took 1.5 days each.
One day was assigned for consultations on specific projects. The training sessions covered the following topics: general information about
HTSPE Ltd., the objectives and structure of the programme; - Session 1: Role of JSC National Innovation Fund in the development of the
technologies commercialization system in the Republic of Kazakhstan; - Session 2: Commercial use of research - the potential benefits for
Universities / Scientific and Research Institutes; - Session 3: The role of commercialization offices; - Session 4: Protection and use of
intellectual property; - Session 5: Main areas of commercialization; - Session 6: Attraction and initial evaluation of proposals;
- Session 7: Justification of the concept; - Session 8: Use of intellectual property by establishing a new enterprise;
- Session 9: Use of intellectual
property through licensing.
The two CNCP expert groups discussed 48 projects with the participants. The results and recommendations for each University and the
project were summarized into a series of reports on the results of the visit prepared both for NIF and for each technology commercialization
office of the Universities.
The total number of participants was 285. As a result of the workshops, the participants were awarded with certificates of attendance.
