Modular heating units
The problem of modernizing and technically upgrading heating systems and of saving energy in residential and industrial buildings is now critical in Russia. One of the activities of NPO PM MKB is providing companies and other organizations with effective, modern heating technology equipment. Having our own research and production base made it possible for us to solve independently many technical questions, starting from project design and ending up with the production and assembly of heating technology equipment. In March 2005, we signed a contract with CNCP for a grant project: Development of Production of Heating Units, the purpose of which was to increase the volume of equipment produced and assembled and improve quality and so create additional jobs. Automated individual modular heating units (MHU) are designed to provide for the transfer of heat from external heating networks (power plant, district thermal plant or boilers) to a heating, ventilation and hot water supply system within a building. Depending on the customer’s requirements, modules can be employed either as freestanding units or be linked to automated regulators and controllers within an integrated heating system. The installation of MHUs for the provision of heat to residential, public and industrial buildings, makes it possible to significantly reduce both capital expenditure during construction and ongoing expenditure during the life of the building concerned. Thanks to the CNCP grant, the company succeeded in organizing and equipping the division responsible for manufacturing MHUs and pumping stations, to increase production capacity, to create additional jobs, and to recruit and train staff. The administration and production building was reconstructed, the production area was extended, and the fleet of transport vehicles was increased. To increase the volume of equipment being dispatched, a marketing group was set up. Research into the Krasnoyarsk construction market enabled us to define the pattern of growth and the potential demand which might result for our equipment in the construction sector, to broaden the circle of our customers, and to establish links with new buyers. In this manner, the joint project gave an impulse to the development of the company, which resulted in an increase in the quantity of equipment produced, improved quality, an extension of the geographical extent of our deliveries, and also the introduction of a complex approach to organizing tasks, starting from the design of the project right up to the point where the equipment is commissioned and put under warranty.
