Summary

Kraspan is successfully serving the Russian market of fasades, ie mainly in segments

  • new construction of offices, elite housing.
  • repair and rehabilitation of existing office and housing buildings.

The advantages of the given technology as compared to competing technologies (paint, etc) are decisive, including

  • better insulation, ie reduced heating needs for the building.
  • no temperature/seasonal limitations.
  • good choice of surfaces and colours.
  • economical to maintain (modular structure allows to replace damaged elements easily).

Kraspan has negotiated a 4-year, £460,783 loan from Sberbank under a 16% yearly interest rate in order to finance its production capacity increase. The total cost of the loan will be £181,245 over 5 years. This loan will be used to build production premises and acquire production equipment for the existing Kraspan products, plus production equipment to manufacture fixations.

A Full Proposal for the project was approved the Steering Group in January 2005.

A final audit of the project proved that the Beneficiary's obligations for job creation were fulfilled (125 jobs /25 for ex-nuclear workers created vs 123 /74 planned initially). Despite the fact that, for the objective reasons, Kraspan was not able to create all the planned jobs for ex-nuclear staff, the project is considered to have been completed successfully.

Cost

Total cost of the project is £642,028. The DECC's contribution is £90,600 to pay the interest on a bank loan of £460,000.
Duration

24 months - March 2005 to March 2007.
