SummaryWhile CNCP has already cooperated with partners from Zheleznogorsk in a number of activities, including study tours and training initiatives, no grant aid projects were developed during fiscal year 2003/2004. A team from CNCP, including Vladimir Sterekhov (representative from the Federal Agency for Atomic Energy (FAAE)) visited Krasnoyarsk from April 14-16, 2004 for meetings with representatives from the nuclear facility Mining Chemical Kombinat (MCC), the municipality and state and private sector enterprises with the aim of identifying potential grant aid projects and better understanding local capabilities and needs.On the first day, CNCP team members heard reports on the situation in the Closed Nuclear City and on measures already underway to promote economic conversion and restructuring. On April 15-16, representatives of teams from Zheleznogorsk and Krasnoyarsk region's businesses and public sector institutions made presentations on some 20 possible grant aid projects including: Production of ventilated wall facades; modular heat transfer units; antenna feeder systems; polythene pipe production and radiation strengthening; insulating materials production.
