Snezhinsk Company for Energy Saving Technologies (SCEST) is an established company that produces ready insulated pipes that are used to transfer hot water and steam.
SCEST was established in 2002 with the help of a grant from the US-RF NCI programme and, as a result, development of the pipe in pipe technology was completed. Thereafter CNCP agreed a new project to take the technology one step further and to increase the market share of the product through some simple additions. The project helped SCEST to increase its market share and penetration.
The new project was to develop:
- An outer galvanized casing that can be wrapped over the polyethylene pipe to allow the final assembly to be completely weatherproof and not be damaged by sunlight, for use when the pipe comes above ground. The same galvanized spiral wrap can also be used for air conditioning ducting providing a second sales opportunity for SCEST.
- Recovering waste polyethylene from the manufacture of the outer pipe for the production of granules for recycling, this will provide waste free production reducing the cost of the final product.
Final audit proved that the Beneficiary fulfilled most of its obligations. Job creation was over fulfilled (20 jobs /15 for former employees of VNIITF created vs 18/10 planned).
The project has been completed successfully.
