Production of paper and cardboard packaging
Title

Creation of the centre on developing and production of paper and cardboard packaging in Snezhinsk.
Objectives

- Promote the expansion of Raster Technology's operations for paper and cardboard packaging design and manufacturing to the Closed City of Snezhinsk.

- Expand its sales into the Urals region.

- To create 20 new jobs in Snezhinsk, including 11 for former employees of VNIITF.

- Contribute to the development of the Russian packaging industry by introducing European best practices in design and production of paper and cardboard packaging, including relevant equipment, software and materials.
Summary

This project involved supporting the establishment for a production facility and development centre in packaging printing and cutting dye making in Snezhinsk by the Moscow-based company, Raster Technology. Following Steering Group approval, contracts for the full project were signed in FY 2003/04 Q4.

Final audit showed that the Beneficiary fulfilled all of its obligations. Job creation was over fulfilled (20/13 jobs former employees of VNIITF versus 20/11 planned). The project was completed successfully.

CNCP supported a seminar in selling/promotion for Raster which was successfully held in March 2006.

Cost

Total cost of the project is £440,000. The DECC's contribution is £250,000.
