Title

Manufacture of Furniture Panels from Shaped MDF.
Objectives

- To expand the range of products made from MDF boards, thus increasing customers demand for furniture made by the "Maple" factory and increase sales of ready made products.

- To increase the industrial output by 150-160%.

- To lower the cost of ready made products in order to increase its competitiveness in the regional market.

- To create 22 additional jobs (including 13 jobs for the former nuclear weapon specialists from VNIITF, Snezhinsk) to maintain high-tech equipment.

- Better environmental standards for the furniture.

- To provide a consistent quality of manufacture of the quality produce and to achieve a reliable status at the regional market.
Summary

Klen-S is currently producing household furniture largely from chipboard. According to research, medium density fibreboard (MDF) with wood veneer facing, offers a higher quality and more attractive product than the alternatives. During project implementation all the objectives were achieved.

Final audit showed that the Beneficiary had fulfilled all of its obligations. All the planned jobs were created (22 jobs of which, 13 for former employees of VNIITF, as planned).

The project has been completed successfully.

Cost

Total cost of the project is £ 292,878. The DECC's contribution is £190,192.
