Practical Outcomes of Project Realization "Diagnostics and Energy Efficiency (DiagEn)"

The first project was initiated in 2004 and was devoted to setting up a company in Snezhinsk that provided energy efficiency services to various industrial enterprises and the housing and utility sector. The project was fully funded with CNCP money, which was spent on a mobile laboratory, engineering equipment, software, personnel training, and the company’s accreditation with the supervisory and regulatory authorities.

The project broke even in 2006, and the company is presently providing services on a commercial basis in Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk regions. DiagEn Ltd. became a subcontractor to EBRD in energy auditing works conducted at large industrial enterprises in Russia (general contractor — the British company AEA Energy, selected by EBRD on a competitive basis, helped set up DiagEn Ltd. under the framework of CNCP). Later DiagEn Ltd. won a tender for similar activities, organised by IFC, and also the company was selected as a responsible contractor to conduct an expert analysis of standard technological losses in energy distribution for companies performing heat and electricity supply in the territory of the RF.

The CNCP project targeted at setting up DiagEn Ltd was completed in October 2006, and in March 2007 a new project started, under which the company’s development is taking place; the enterprise is getting additional diagnostic equipment, expanding energy auditing and servicing services. In this context, one should note that British specialists conducted specialised training in the Urals.
