CNCP provided start-up funding for DiagEn during the period from June 2004 to September 2006, with the result that the company now operates commercially as an energy consultancy, with particular skills in energy auditing and simple diagnostic work. The company has recruited eight highly skilled people, six of whom are ex-VNIITF scientific/skilled staff, to undertake the role of consultants.
DiagEn has the potential to develop further as an energy consultancy, through improving its skill base and offering greater energy and diagnostic assistance to companies . (Snezhinsk Energy Saving Centre (DiagEn))
This follow-on project aimed to develop their skills in key areas through a combination of additional training, purchase of specialist equipment and software tools.
As a result, DiagEn can now offer a more all-round service, and expects to be well positioned to undertake work in the following areas:
- Energy Management (Industrial & Buildings) - many projects need very little financial investment if energy management is a high priority.
- Energy Consultancy (Industrial & Buildings) - including training in how to make a business case for energy projects.
- Diagnostics and examinations of distributing pipelines (gas, water, oil, steam etc) - under new Russian legislation, companies should undertake inspection of pipes to guarantee extended life.
- Software tools - some business and technical software required with a need to develop this for specific needs.
Final audit proved that the Beneficiary fulfilled all of their obligations in full. The Beneficiary's obligations for job creation were overfulfilled (5 jobs /5 for former employees of VNIITF created vs 5/3 planned initially).
The project is considered to have been completed successfully.
