Aspekt and the Snezhinsk Industrial and Engineering Centre (Snezhinsk IEC) have jointly designed a production facility for flexible or swivel joints for pipelines. The joints are designed to operate in aggressive environments, for example in oil and chemical applications. The joints offer a flexible and reliable alternative to the various, and often unsatisfactory, piping arrangements used at present for application on many of these large industrial plants. The Steering Group agreed a grant at its meeting of February 2006.
The company has not managed to realise its plans for swivel joints production due to this products are mainly oriented to the gas and petrochemical industries, which have suffered because of the financial crisis. Nevertheless, it has managed to use its high technology metal processing equipment for orders from other industries.
Final audit showed that the Beneficiary had fulfilled all of its obligations. Oligations for job creation were over ulfilled (17 jobs /14 for former employees of VNIITF created vs 17/12 planned). Despite the change in the product range, the project has been completed successfully.
