Summary

Joule Ltd. was established by a private entrepreneur, A V Alexandrov, in Seversk in 1999 to process waste paper into toilet paper and paper towel rolls. A building of 1047 sq m was leased from the Administration and equipment was purchased in 2002. This was partially funded from four loans from the City Administration Economic Development Fund.

The company currently processes about 1m rolls per year that is approximately 12% of the market in Tomsk Region. The company is seeking to expand their production and improve their production processes to reduce costs and produce other paper products of higher quality including napkins and egg boxes. To achieve this will require upgrading of some machinery and purchase of new equipment.

Cost

Total cost of the project is £300,000. The DECC is funding a contribution of £132,000.
