Completed projectSarovMeasurement Technologies
Overall cost of project – £ 295 953 From its establishment in 1996, Measurement Technologies Ltd has been engaged in developing and introducing modern high technology electronic systems for automating and diagnosing manufacturing equipment. The company’s main product is a programmable assembly called IT14, which we developed ourselves. The use of IT14 makes it possible to maximize utilization of the capacity of manufacturing equipment, to resolve potential problems in real time, to objectively and continually control the technical condition of the equipment, to plan replacements and repairs, and to relieve staff of routine operations by pre-setting equipment parameters and adjusting them appropriately. Adopting the IT14 system in the first place provides for protection against accidents involving equipment, an issue which is of current concern in terms of the strategies and deterioration of heavy equipment across the CIS. When we approached CNCP in 2006, our company already had an excellent reputation on the Russian market and abroad. Nevertheless, we were faced by a whole row of tasks, which in strategic terms had to be resolved if the company was to develop its activities further. We were actively increasing deliveries of the system to power stations at this time and were aware that we needed technical equipment which would enable us to manage the quality control side of our production and to expand output. CNCP provided funding from the beginning of 2007 through to the end of 2009 to achieve these objectives. Implementing the CNCP project involved establishing units for producing plastic castings and assembling printed circuit boards. Measuring equipment was also obtained, which enabled us to raise the quality of products which were in demand, to increase production, to make economies both in terms of costs and of time, and to reduce the amount of time required to introduce new products. The implementation of this project led to the creation of additional jobs for highly qualified specialists and to increased sales. The scale of funding received through CNCP was significantly lower than the volume of Measurement Technologies’ turnover, but we could not have done what we needed to do had we depended solely on the Company’s internal resources. CNCP financing was the most important element enabling us to carry out our strategic objectives in this period. Sufficient to say that, despite the tough crisis conditions, we succeeded in increasing sales both in 2008 and in 2009. Demand for our products will grow further as equipment ages or is replaced. Thanks to the successfully completed CNCP project, we are today in a position to satisfy growing demand for our products. Andrei Khamutov, |
