KhimStalKomplekt was a product distribution company based in Ozersk, with a good record in selling energy saving devices in the Urals region. The company has a good core of engineering staff, who are ex-Mayak scientific and technical employees. KhimStalKomplekt believed that it could expand its business into manufacturing and recruit more ex-Mayak staff to manufacture the equipment. It identified three types of product that they it could manufacture:

  • Steam utilisers - units which take excess steam expelled from a process or boiler house and use it to directly heat hot water.
  • Magnet separators - used to concentrate ores of ferrous material and also to extract unwanted ferrous materials from process flows.
  • Heat exchangers.
