Objectives

The increase in "Energoprom"'s production capability will allow the company to:
  • Double its output.
  • Manufacture a wider product range.
  • Reduce order fulfilment lead times to enable "Energoprom" to provide more competitive services.
  • Raise product quality standards to international levels.
  • Obtain a 40% share of the Russian market for high voltage shielding equipment by 2005.
  • Create 57 new jobs in Ozersk including 31 jobs for former specialists from the Mayak Chemical Kombinat.
Summary

Energoprom is a successful, privately owned manufacturer of electrical switching equipment. The company believed that it could substantially expand its production and sales and take on further labour from the RosAtom nuclear facility MAYAK in Ozersk.

Final audit proved that the beneficiary had fulfilled their obligations in full and had overfulfilled their obligations in what concerns new jobs creation. 62 jobs / including 31 for ex- workers of FSUE PA Mayak had been created vs 57 /31 planned initially).

The project had been completed successfully.

Cost

Total cost of the project is £ 354,658. The DECC's contribution is £ 187,000.
