Bur-Invest is a private-sector engineering company which has diversified into the manufacture of wooden products including high quality wooden furniture for children's nurseries. The enterprise considered that it would be in a position to expand production and sales of nursery furniture, and so recruit more labour from the nuclear establishment situated in Ozersk if it were to receive a CNCP grant. The CNCP Steering Group agreed in September 2003 to fund market research and business plan development to explore the viability of the proposed project. The Steering Group in January 2004 approved a full proposal. A Bur-Invest affiliated company initiated another project which was approved at Full Proposal stage by the SG in July 2008.
Final audit showed that the Beneficiary had fulfilled its obligations in full and had significantly over fulfilled its obligations as concerns job creation. 57 jobs / including 38 for ex-workers of Mayak had been created vs 50 /28 planned).
The project had been completed successfully.
