TOPAU-Electronics, Ltd. was founded in 1990 and makes electronic and automatic balance and scale systems for cranes and platforms, used widely around Russia and in other CIS countries. It is a well established company with 46 employees and large manufacturing facility of 5000 sqm. TOPAU-Electronics plans to widen its product offering through the development and manufacture of a range of strain-gauge sensors and balance scales to add to its portfolio. These products have a range of applications, including cranes, motor balancing, and weighing platforms. The aim is to create a reliable robust product that outperforms current domestic production and can be monitored and controlled remotely via radio frequency. The project involves the development of suitable premises, including an electronic components assembly line, a milling and turning processing centre, installation of sheet metal cutting equipment, sensor testing equipment, drying equipment, and press-bending machine. The project envisages the creation of prototypes and the certification process through to full manufacturing.
Final audit proved that the Beneficiary has not fulfilled its obligations as concerns job creation. 16 new jobs (5 for former employees of UECK) had been created vs a planned 10 (6 for former employees of UECK). The project has been closed without paying the remaining payments.
