The City Administration of Snezhinsk, the main City Forming Enterprise the All-Russian Science and Research Institute
of Technical Physics (RFNC VNIITF) and the Snezhinsk IDC wish to develop an Strategic Economic Development Plan for the
City which sets out how additional job opportunities will be created for former weapons scientists and technicians,
the actions that will need to be taken and the resources that would be required. The development of the strategy will
involve the following steps:
Collation of base line statistics on the City's economy.
Identification of the main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for the local economy.
Development and refinement of a vision and a series of long and short term quantifiable objectives for the City.
Distillation of a series of critical success factors which will need to be satisfied if the primary (and secondary)
objectives of the strategy are to be realized.
Identification of the main priorities for economic intervention.
Determine the range of actions that would need to be undertaken under each priority, and consider budget and timescale issues.
Preparation and circulation of agreed final version of the Outline Strategy.
The overall 2020 strategy for Snezhinsk was completed in Q4, FY 07-08 and the draft report was submitted and accepted by the Oblast.
