The project was devoted to launching serial production of water purification devices that would respond to the needs of a wide population in Uzbekistan and possibly beyond. The question of population access to secure drinking water is critical in Central Asia, and Uzbekistan is a showcase of this problem being a) the region's most populous country and b) having some of the worst quality of ground water (salt and mineral concentration, concentration of bacteria generally far exceeding maximum allowed levels). An STCU contract was signed in March 2006. Final audit and evaluation were carried out in June 2010.
The Beneficiary fulfilled their obligations (32 jobs / including 14 for the employees who worked before 1991 had been created vs 42 /33 planned initially).
The project is considered to have been completed successfully.
